I love, love, love, love Lucille Ball! I own (thanks to my sister Sharda) every season of I Love Lucy including the Lucy-Desi comedy hour AND The long long trailer, Forever, Darling and Too Many Girls. So I'm a pretty big fan of the show and Lucille Ball herself. Because I am starting to get into dresses I decided to do this post. I am fan of when ladies actually walked outside and were put together. I love a man in a suit and I think nothing is sexier.
Lucy wore a lot of pencil skirts and things that attenuated her waist. She was a very fashionable woman. I'm not saying this because I am a huge fan but because its true. One has to remember that everyone watched Lucy. Television was huge in Lucy's time. She was a trendsetter. If Lucy Ricardo got pearls, Stone Martin furs, or new furniture. Every woman in America needed the same things! People loved Lucy because she was funny but also because she was trendy.
The look above features a classic pencil skirt. A simple button down short sleeved shirt. But the real Lucy influence is the cropped lacey cardigan. This was something that Lucy wore quite often on the show. To give this look a more modern feel I included ankle strapped nude pumps (CLOSET STAPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!). So take a risk and go out looking 1950's chic!
I look up, He looks down!
